Our story

It is the chocolate of afternoons at the farm: a tablet in hot water or milk, whisked with a wooden molinillo until it foams.

The recipe has not changed in three generations. The only thing that changed was the mill, and not even that: it is still made of stone.

  • With cheese and almojábana on a Sunday, there's nothing more to ask for. It melts easily and goes a long way.

  • You can tell it is stone-ground: it is not as smooth as the shop kind and it tastes far more of something. I would give it five if it came in a bigger size.

  • This is the chocolate of the old days, the kind my mother made in a clay pot. Thick, frothy, and without that floury taste of supermarket brands. At home we don't buy any other.

  • In Boyacá we are fussy about our afternoon chocolate, and this one passed my grandmother’s test, and she approves of nothing. Frothy, thick and tasting of real cacao.
